Tis the season for cleaning! Spring is here, the flowers are blooming, the sun is shining and the house is still a mess. Luckily, we’ve created a guide to get you through the most dreaded time of the year. We are sharing tips and tricks to make spring cleaning your Caliterra home easy and painless.
Kitchen Chaos
With so many appliances and cabinets in one location, the kitchen is often the most stressful place to start. To stay on track, try organizing your tasks by surfaces.
- Stainless Steel: Add shine to the exterior of your kitchen appliances. Refrigerators, microwaves, ovens, toasters, blenders and sinks are all victims of dullness. Brighten these surfaces with a solution of dish detergent and hot water.
- Wood: Remove scuffs and grease from wooden surfaces with cleansers that won’t damage your cabinets. A 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water will cut through grease and keep your cabinets looking brand new.
- Tile: Backsplashes and tiled surfaces can get grimy when not cleaned properly. Pay extra attention to the grout to remove tough stains. If you’re in need of a DIY solution, don’t forget to bring in the baking soda for an extra powerful boost.
Cleaning with the Kiddos
Get the kids involved in the spring cleaning by assigning tasks for their own bedrooms. If your goal is to eliminate toys, ask them to sort their toys in baskets. Allow them to choose which toys stay and which ones get donated.
Coordinate the Closet
Color coordinating closets can be the best way to sort your wardrobe. Not only does it make looking for an item easy, it also allows you to keep track of what you want to keep and what you may want to toss.
Bathroom
Most of us can agree that this is our least favorite spot to clean. Clearing out the entire bathroom, removing items from the vanity and uncluttering drawers and baskets is the best way to start. We have found a printable checklist to ensure every nook and cranny of the bathrooms in your Caliterra home look spotless and stay shining.
Spring is an entire season, so don’t feel as though spring cleaning needs to be completed in one day. Schedule one room at a time and set realistic goals and checklists weekly. Your house will be looking tidy and organized in no time.
