The beginning of spring symbolizes the start of many things, like warmer weather, longer days and spring cleaning! Spring cleaning may seem like a daunting task, so to make it easier our master-planned community in Dripping Springs has compiled a spring cleaning checklist. Check out our list below.
1. The Bedroom
The bedroom is your personal oasis, and how tidy it is can affect your mindset, whether you realize it or not. When your bedroom is a peaceful and orderly place, you are less stressed and less distracted. An easy way to start tidying up the bedroom is to sweep underneath all of the furniture, then vacuum the floors. You should also wash all of the sheets, as well as the pillows, and deep clean the mattress. Organize your nightstand by decluttering the drawers. You can also declutter your dresser by sorting through and donating old clothing.
2. The Kitchen
There are tons of cleaning tips for the kitchen. First, we recommended clearing out any old food in the pantry or fridge. This includes condiments and drinks. Once you’ve done this, you can reorganize these spaces. Next, scrub away at your appliances, like the fridge, oven and stove. A helpful cleaning tip for the microwave is to microwave a bowl of water with half of a lemon in it for about 2-3 minutes. After the lemon water has been sitting for about 5 minutes, you can wipe down the microwave with a sponge. If your sink needs a deep clean, sprinkle lemon juice and baking soda down the drain. After about 10 minutes, drain the sink with hot water.
3. The Bathroom
Nobody likes to clean the bathroom, but nobody likes using a dirty bathroom. Start by tossing out any junk in the cabinets, including expired medicine and old makeup. Next, scrub the toilet, sink and shower. You can use the same sink trick from the kitchen in your bathroom! If you want to remove mineral deposits from the showerhead, you can do that with a vinegar soak. Fill a plastic bag with white vinegar and secure the bag over the shower head with a rubber band. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes, then take the bag off and turn the shower head on to rinse it.
