Wood Slice Ornament

Stop by your local craft store for a pack of thin circular slices of wood, paint and twine. Then choose your favorite design, word or name to paint onto your piece. Use only white or black paint for a simple yet elegant flair. Once it’s dry, drill a hole through the top and string a piece of twine through it. Add a knot on the top, and you’re already done!
Clear Glass Ornament

If you want your ornament to be 3D, try decorating a clear glass ornament. You can also find these in bins, sold individually, at your local craft shop. These have many possibilities because you can not only paint them but also fill them with all sorts of fun things! Toss in a sprinkling of glitter or festive confetti to create a mini snow globe. Layered sand of varying colors can be poured in to create a serene sunset appearance. You can also paint the exterior or write on it with puff paint or paint markers!
Jar Lid Ornament

Mason jars are the season’s biggest trend. You can fill them with jam, flowers, goodies or anything else you can imagine. If you have a few spare jar lids, don’t throw them in the garbage. Recycle them by using the rim as a border for a fabric cut out. Just a bit of glue around the edges and your rustic ornament is nearly complete!
