In the summer, there are endless things to do in Dripping Springs, but we can all agree that Texas summers are no joke! So, why not beat the heat and pick up a good book? The Dripping Springs Community Library has fun, family-friendly events happening during the hottest months of the year to keep you cool and busy. There’s something for everyone, here are just a few of the many events occurring.

Battle of the Books
When: June 8 – July 20
Who: Grades 3 – 5 & 6 – 8
What: “Family Feud” Trivia Game
If your kid loves to read but is also a competitive person, this event couldn’t be more perfect for them. Register for Battle of the Books, your kid will be placed on a team of 2-4 members and be required to read from a list of books provided by the Dripping Springs Community Library. On “Game Day,” which takes place on July 20th, teams will compete in a “Family Feud” style trivia game! While initial registration has already happened, you can still register by June 19.
Tuesday Adventures for Tykes and Tots
When: Tuesday, June 20 & 27 and July 11 & 18 at 9:30am
Who: Babies and Toddlers
What: Storytelling
Spend time with your little ones this summer by listening to a half-hour story and doing activities or crafts after. Each Tuesday Adventures for Tykes and Tots comes with a different story.
Escape the Library
When: Thursday, June 29
Who: Teens and Adults
What: Room Escape
Want to do sometime besides reading? We’ve got just the thing for you! You are locked in a room for 60 minutes and need to escape using the objects and clues in the room. Will you and your team be one of the few that break free of Lockout Austin’s Escape the Library wizard escape room in time?
