The City of Dripping Springs Farmers Market
When: Every Wednesday
Where: Veterans Memorial Park
What Time: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
This year-round, local farmers market not only has amazing fresh produce but is also a Texas Department of Agriculture certified farmers market. The mission of The City of Dripping Springs Farmers Market is to provide a community gathering place where local farmers and vendors can sell directly to the public and give community members the chance to meet and shake the hands of the people who grew the food or made the goods. You never have to worry about things to do in Dripping Springs on Wednesdays, because you can always go to this awesome farmers market near Caliterra.
Sustainable Food Center
When: Every Saturday
Where: Two Austin Locations – Republic Square & Toney Burger Center
What Time: Both Locations – 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
The Sustainable Food Center is a truly inspiring organization in Austin with an overarching mission of creating a food-secure community where all children and adults can grow, share and prepare healthy, local food. As for their farmers markets near Dripping Springs, SFC has two farmers markets going year-round every Saturday. While they share many of the same available items, there are some specifics to note about both the SFC Farmers Market Downtown and the SFC Farmers Market at Sunset Valley.
Wimberley Farmers Market
When: Every Wednesday
Where: Parking Lot in Front of Wimberley Community Thrift Shop
What Time: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Sure, the Wimberley Farmers Market may take place at the same time and day as the Dripping Springs Farmers Market, but who says you can’t have the best of both local farmers markets? This little gem isn’t nearly as well-known as these other farmers markets near Dripping Springs, but the produce sold is on par with all the tasty produce sold at the others. The big difference with the Wimberley Farmers Market is you aren’t going to deal with crowds or worrying about getting there in time to get the best produce.
Johnson City Market Days
When: Every 4th weekend March – November
Where: City Park
What Time: Saturdays 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM & Sundays 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Last up on our list is the only local farmers market not open year-round, but it’s still just as special as the other 3 mentioned in our list. The Johnson City Market Days go beyond the traditional farmers market by having a multitude of non-produce vendors selling various artwork, jewelry and other handmade goods. It’s a great way to spend a weekend and support many local artists, farmers and other businesses.
