Petco Making It All Possible
None of this would be possible without the $340,000 grant bestowed by the Petco Foundation. This grant was part of Petco’s annual Helping Heroes fundraising campaign, which received donations from thousands of individuals. While we know Petco for their stores, the Petco Foundation focuses on helping abandoned pets get adopted and raising awareness for the growing population of abandoned cats and dogs.
About the New Training Campus
This remarkable six-acre training campus in Dripping Springs will help shelter dogs find a new lease on life by training them to become service dogs to help Texans with disabilities. The dogs will be trained to fill a variety of roles including emotional support to help people with PTSD and autism, as well as mobility support to help wounded veterans and the elderly.
About Service Dogs Inc.
While the Petco Foundation is the one helping to fund this amazing endeavor, it’s the brilliant hearts and minds at Service Dogs Inc. in Dripping Springs that will be helping to train each and every dog. Service Dogs Inc. adopts nearly every single one of their animals from local shelters and rescue groups.
There is still a lot more information to be released about this new training campus for service dogs in Dripping Springs, but we’re so excited to be a part of a community that is helping both animals and humans in need.
