Over these past few months, we’ve been talking a lot about all the great options for dining near Dripping Springs, especially when it comes to tacos! For this week’s Taco Tuesday fix, Caliterra in Dripping Springs is highlighting the always delicious tacos at Taco Joint in Austin.
The Best Things in Life Are Handmade
So many places just try and do things the quickest and cheapest way possible, but not Taco Joint. They take the extra time and attention needed to make all of their tortillas by hand and ensure that their guests are always getting the freshest tortillas possible with their tasty tacos. They make their flour, corn and wheat tortillas in-house!
A Better Breakfast
You can never go wrong with breakfast tacos, and that’s especially the case at Taco Joint! While they have all your classics with egg like potato, chorizo, bacon, ham, sausage and bean, Taco Joint also has a few vegan options! We’d recommend going for the Soyrizo & potato or the potato & avocado.
Munchie Lunchie
If you’re not much of a morning person, that’s okay. Taco Joint has a downright amazing lunch menu! With over a dozen lunch taco options, it may be a little hard to choose which one you want to devour over your lunch break. You can never go wrong with the El Señor Crockett Taco, which features tender beef strips grilled with onions, peppers and topped with smoky gouda or the El 4/20 Taco, which is beef carnitas that are stewed in Taco Joint’s original tangy Guisadito sauce and sprinkled with shoestring “papitas.”
Your Weekend Taco Getaway
While you can enjoy their full menu on the weekends, they also have two other special dishes that they only serve up on Saturday and Sunday! The Benedicto Taco has ham and steak strips, scrambled eggs, avocado slices and spicy hollandaise. The other weekend-only dish is their Carnitas Hash, which has pork carnitas, hash browns, over-easy eggs and is served with two tortillas. While that second one is technically not a taco, you can still pile all that tasty grub onto a hearty, homemade tortilla, and you’re all set!
