Now, with the help of the Home Energy Rating System (HERS), there is a way to score the energy efficiency of a new home, like you would for gas mileage of a new car.
The Home Energy Rating System was developed by RESNET (Residential Energy Services Network). Every 1-point decrease in the HERS Score equals a 1% reduction in energy intake. The lower your score, the lower the energy cost. All Drees homes have an average score of 30 points higher and deliver almost 40% more energy savings over other new homes.
