Our master-planned community isn’t like most other communities, as Caliterra is considered part of a dark sky community. With Dripping Springs being a certified Dark Sky Community, stargazing at Caliterra is unlike anything you’ve seen. Come see Orion’s Belt and the Big Dipper like never before at one of our favorite Dripping Springs events – the Shoot for the Stars Stargazing at Caliterra event!
Shoot for the Stars: Stargazing at Caliterra
When: Friday, October 5
Where: Caliterra Event Pavilion
What Time: 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM
Get ready to look up and see millions of bright, shining stars overhead and even spot the incredible Orion Nebula. This event is completely free and will include free appetizers and drinks as well. We expect it to be a little chilly, so make sure to bring a couple of blankets to bundle up in, but we promise the views will be worth being a little cool. While stargazing at Caliterra would still be beautiful, it wouldn’t be nearly as awe-inspiring as it is without Dripping Springs being a certified Dark Sky Community.
What is a Dark Sky Community?
For a city to be a certified Dark Sky Community, they must out an extreme level of focus and dedication to keeping the skies free of light pollution and preserving their natural areas. The International Dark-Sky Association is the only organization that can give this distinction, and they’ve only granted 20 cities around the world with this remarkable certification. Check out one of our blogs to get the full scoop on dark sky communities and their residential benefits.
We hope everyone can make it out to Shoot for the Stars: Stargazing at Caliterra this October. We’re looking forward to sharing our big Texas night sky views with everyone.
