Holiday Sing-Along and Downtown Stroll
When: December 3, 6:00pm – 9:00pm
Where: Texas State Capitol, 1100 Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78701
Cost: Free admission
The annual Sing-Along and Downtown Stroll is always a family favorite! Crowds will begin to gather at 6:00pm on the south steps of the Capitol. Don’t miss out on the light show at the beginning and end of each hour. Feel free to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Central Texas Food Bank.
German Christmas Market
When: December 5, 10:00am – 4:00pm
Where: German Free School of Austin, 507 E 10th St, Austin, TX 78701
The German-Texan Heritage Society is hosting a winter festival with German music, handcrafted gifts, hot spiced wine and plenty of German food. The German Christmas Market will feature both the traditional American Santa Claus as well as the German Sankt Nikolas.
Cherrywood Art Fair
When: December 10-11, 10:00am – 5:00pm
Where: Maplewood Elementary School, 3808 Maplewood Avenue, Austin, Texas 78722
Cost: Free admission
The two-day Cherrywood Art Fair will feature live music, local artisan gifts, food vendors and a variety of children’s activities. Proceeds from the event will benefit local artists and art education.
Trail of Lights
When: December 10-23, 7:00pm – 10:00pm
Where: Zilker Park, 2100 Barton Springs Rd Austin, TX
Cost: Free admission
The 52nd annual Trail of Lights is one of Austin’s most famous holiday events! Come check out the dazzling 1.25 miles of lights, fun entertainment, sweet treats and retailers.
Ice Skating on Whole Foods Roof
When: December 10-January 11, 10:00am-9:00pm daily (except for special holiday hours and private events)
Where: Whole Foods, 525 N Lamar Blvd. Austin, TX 78703
Cost: Free admission
The Whole Foods’ rooftop is home to a real ice skating rink! Bring your skates or check out a pair to glide around outdoors and enjoy the holiday music.
