The Dripping Springs Pumpkin Festival is just around the corner. Whether you’ve attended in years past or you’ve never been and are simply curious what all the hubbub is about, here’s everything you need to know about this year’s event. Bring on those beautiful gourds!
When and Where
This year marks the third year of the popular pumpkin fest, and similar to previous years, it will span six weeks of fall fun. The family-friendly event will kick off on September 23 and run through October 29 on Saturdays and Sundays. The festival will open the gates at 10 AM and close at 7 PM. Admission to the festival is $15 for those over the age of 3 years and under the age of 65. Parking is free.
The festival’s return will again take place at The Pound House Farmstead at 419 Founders Park Road in Dripping Springs. However, this will likely be its final year at the Farmstead, with the festival moving to a new location in 2024.
What to Expect
Yes, there will be lots of pumpkins, but that’s pretty much a given. What attendees can look forward to, though, are six “uniquely-themed weekends of unlimited fun with over 50 fall-inspired games, activities, and attractions.”
Week 1 – Scarecrow Disco
Week 2 – Butterfly Jubilee
Week 3 – Celebration of Indigenous Tradition
Week 4 – Pioneer Palooza
Week 5 – Bubble Extravaganza
Week 6 – Pumpkin Jamboree
Each of these weekends will have its own lineup of performers and activities that include everything from Native American dancers and storytelling to foam dance parties. The sheer variety is reason enough to visit multiple weekends.
In addition to the rotating activities, there will also be regular activities happening each weekend, such as farm games, a monster maze, pumpkin painting, tye-dye, ax throwing, and more!
Eats and Drinks
It’s not really a festival without a smorgasbord of delicious food, now is it? Don’t worry about coming hungry to the festival because there will be plenty of awesome eats and drinks to try each weekend.
Food vendors include Agua Fresca, Afuga Coffee, Cilantro Tacos, Connor’s Creamery, Downtown Burgers, El Mariachi Tacos, Fitzhugh Brewing, Grilled Street Corn, I Panini Sandwiches, Italian Gelato, Kids Food Truck, K.O. BBQ, Pecos Pete’s Teas, Pop It Like It’s Hot, Smoked Turkey Legs, Solaro Estate Winery, and Wetzel’s Pretzels.
Other Important Info
The goal of the festival is for everyone to have a fun and safe time, and knowing some additional important info will help to make sure this year’s event goes off without a hitch.
The festival accepts cash, card, or Apple Pay, and there is an ATM on site. It’s also a rain-or-shine event and wheelchair-friendly. While guests are encouraged to wear costumes and are welcome to bring blankets and picnic baskets, there are several items you should leave at home. Pets, alcohol, weapons, fireworks, smoking, drones, and glass containers are strictly off-limits.
