There’s a lot happening around Dripping Springs in any given month, and September is no different, with plenty of fun ways to fill up your calendar.
Afternoon Tea at Tilly’s
Camp Lucy draws people to Dripping Springs from all over the country, and the local resort has not one but two experiences happening this month that you don’t want to miss.
If you’ve never stopped by the resort’s restaurant, Tilly’s, for afternoon tea, then be sure to grab a friend and book a table for this delicious occasion. On Mondays and Fridays from 11 to 3, Tilly’s serves “a three-tiered feast of traditional English scones, dainty sweets, and exquisite finger sandwiches, along with premium and traditional teas and refreshing sparkling wine.” It’s a taste of jolly old England right here in the heart of Texas.
Dance Up a Storm
If you’re looking for a reason to break in your dancing shoes, then head on down to Mercer Hall for a night of boot-scootin ‘boogie. The dance hall and live music venue is one of the most popular spots in the Hill Country for line dancing, and guests can enjoy free dance lessons every Friday from 7:30 to 8:30 PM.
Come back on a Saturday to show off your new moves when local and regional music acts hit the stage for an evening of live music.
Camp Lucy’s Wine Experience
The Texas Hill Country is home to a number of amazing wineries, and vino fans are invited to Camp Lucy on September 12 from 6 to 9 PM for a celebration of delicious food and fantastic wine. Vineyard Manager Robin Reeves will take guests on a tour of the on-site vineyard and a behind the scenes look at Bending Branch’s wine-making process.
The evening will be capped off with a menu prepared by Camp Lucy’s executive chef, featuring items such as braised short ribs, butternut squash risotto, roasted broccolini, and double-chocolate cake.
Lager Fest
If you’re more of a beer fan, then be sure to mark September 21 on your calendar for the 14th annual Lager Fest. Presented by Jester King Brew Brewing in Austin, the event will bring together 22 Texas breweries and 44 crispy lagers.
All ages are welcome to attend, but tickets are required for those 21 and over who want to sample the brews. Each brewery will have two lagers on deck to try and pours are 4 ounces. There will also be live music throughout the day, and only 700 tickets are available, so grab’em while they last!
Concert at Caliterra
Come out and celebrate the fall season with live music, tasty drinks, and a bit of face painting for the kiddos thrown in for good measure. Austin Monthly will be presenting a Front Porch Sessions concert on The Stage at Caliterra on September 27 from 6 to 9 PM.
Residents and guests are invited to put down a blanket or lawn chair and grab a burger or drink from Lace Burgers and Vista Brewing who will be on-site to provide eats and drinks. There will also be face painting by artist Anna Chapovalov and dance lessons before the live music kicks off, with country rockers Aaron McDonnell & the Neon Eagles hitting the stage at 7:15 PM.
This is a free event you’re not going to want to miss, but making a reservation beforehand is recommended. Community events like the September concert are one of the many reasons people love calling the Caliterra community home. Reach out to our team today to learn more.
