When it comes to live music, Central Texas is on a stage all its own. From the Austin City Limits music festival to the honky tonks that dot the Hill Country landscape, music fans never have to look far for toe-tapping tunes.
Dripping Springs has a number of listening rooms around the area that offer an eclectic calendar of performances. Consider pulling up a chair or hitting the dance floor at these local favorites this month.
Ghost Note Brewing – Everyone loves free live music, and that’s exactly what’s on the menu at Ghost Note Brewing – plus some tasty brews, of course! There’s always a food truck or two parked out back to satisfy any hunger cravings, and the watering hole’s porch is the perfect place for live performances. During March, visitors can catch acts offering blues, country, rock, and more.
Hudson’s on Mercer – Are you ready to rock? If that’s the case, then you’ll find yourself amid good company at this local music joint. Swing by on Monday or Tuesday for happy hour from 4 to 8 PM, but be sure to make a return visit on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday when the guitar amps power up. Hudson’s house band takes the stage every Thursday to showcase its musicianship on a range of classics, while on the weekend, you might find anything from a Van Halen cover band to up-and-coming alt-rock groups.
Mercer Dance Hall – For over a decade, Mercer Dance Hall has been the venue for Dripping Springs residents who are itching to do some line dancing. The club not only offers free dance lessons to boot-scootin” novices every Friday from 7:30-8:30 PM, but has a stacked calendar of regional music acts. Throughout March, patrons can enjoy artists such as 3 Chord Rodeo, Weldon Henson, The Pearl Snaps, and The Shufflehawks.
Dog’ n’ Bone Pub – You have to admit, hoping to find a proper British pub in a small Texas town is a long shot. That’s exactly what thirsty patrons will discover, however, at this newly opened pub on Old Fitzhugh Road. From the second you enter its red telephone booth door, you’ll be greeted by friendly faces and a food and drink menu with beer, wine, and cocktails. Stop by on Friday and Saturday nights for performances from local artists, or swing by on Monday with your own guitar for open mic night.
Sidecar Tasting Room – If the arrival of warmer weather has you itching to get outside, there are few things better than an afternoon spent on the patio at Sidecar. Bell Springs Winery provides the libations, while on-site food trucks offer fresh, chef-prepared grub for hungry music fans. Grab a good seat because the live music happens every Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 6 PM.
The Stage at Caliterra – Caliterra residents don’t need to search far for live music. The Stage is located at the edge of our event lawn, just behind The Hall. It will be home to concerts, events, and more throughout the seasons. This family-friendly music space will be the perfect setting to enjoy live music under a Texas sky. Check out our Facebook page for information about upcoming concerts at The Stage!
