Sure, Austin has designer stores, but the shopping scene in Dripping Springs is nothing to sleep on. Vogue magazine even called it the “buzziest rural town in America,” so yeah, there’s that.
While residents may or may not necessarily think of Dripping Springs as “rural,” anyone who’s spent an afternoon shopping in Dripping Springs knows there is plenty of retail revelry to enjoy.
Here are a few local spots to step into the next time you’re on the hunt for that special something.
The Palm Social Collection: The women’s boutique located on Mercer Street opened last year and owner Jordyn Ketchum has filled the racks with clothing, shoes, and accessories. The style of apparel offered by the store leans more casual than chic, but it’s anything but limited in scope, and shoppers will find everything from simple t-shirts to sundresses, hats, and rompers.
Cowgirls and Lace: This local gift shop has been a Dripping Springs staple for over 30 years! Located on Hwy 290, the shop offers a variety of gifts, including candles, soaps, and fragrances. It even has a toy section, and the staff can help customers in choosing customized window treatments. With an array of goods and services, it’s easy to see why the store is a popular destination for shopping for all sorts of occasions.
Vintage Soul TX: Be warned, if you walk into this local boutique on Mercer Street, the chances of leaving without spending some cash on a “must-have” item are slim. The store has all kinds of fun tops and cute dresses for a night out on the town, but perhaps even more appealing are the gifts with local and state flare. From DSTXS hats to Texas-shaped game day earrings, there’s plenty of local love to find here.
Revel Wilde: This funky and fun shop on Mercer has a bit of everything for everyone. Customers will find everything from men’s and women’s clothing to bath and body products and even home furnishings and gifts like Texas-themed jigsaw puzzles. The store’s website says that it set out with the “mission to supply creative, fresh, and innovative gift ideas for all occasions.” Mission accomplished!
Starrs on Mercer: With a name-bearing location, the quirky little boutique owned by two sisters is a smaller-scale, modern department store. Customers can snag men’s clothing by labels like Howler Bros, as well as tops, dresses, and jewelry for the ladies. It even has Texas-centric one-of-a-kind kid’s clothing like this Buc-ee’s/Whataburger/Bluebell romper.
When it comes to a small town with a big personality, this is really just the tip of the iceberg. From dining to outdoor activities and community events, there’s plenty more to love about Dripping Springs.
