September marks the back-to-school season and, for much of the country, the beginning of some relief from hot weather. (Obviously, that’s not the case for Central Texas.) Just because September is the tail end of summer, that doesn’t mean summer fun has to fade away. There’s still plenty to do this September.
Dripping With Taste Trail: This celebration of the area’s food and drink culture runs from the end of April to the middle of October, but if you ask us, September is the perfect time to check it out.
Download the event’s app and use it to create your own taste of Dripping Springs by visiting the participating restaurants and wineries. You can purchase food/beverage packages or simply take advantage of discounts from Bell Springs Winery, Fitzhugh Brewing, Driftwood Bistro, and a range of other eateries, breweries, and distilleries.
Vibe Artisan Market: This Texas market happens every month in either Dripping Springs or Austin and is a must-visit if you love shopping for unique and handmade goods. The market is always free to attend, and because the vendors change up their goods depending on the season, you’re bound to discover something new each time.
Puppy Plunge: Pups deserve a chance to cool off with a day at the pool, right? Grab your four-legged friend and head to Founders Memorial Pool on September 4 from 6 to 8 PM for a puppy pool party! There will be local food and drink vendors as well as pet-friendly businesses, and your pup may just win some free swag.
Tickets are $5 per dog, and proof of rabies vaccination is required. This event is limited to 50 dogs, so get your tickets while you still can.
Goat Fashion Show: The worlds of goats and fashion have at long last collided. What a time to be alive, right? “Goat Couture 2023 is the first event of its kind to invite community members who have, or can borrow, a goat to dress up and sashay the arena at Ranch Park on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 10:30 AM to 3 PM.” Besides being the fashion event of the year, the event helps to raise funds for Future Farmers of America.
Plant Swap: Head down to Vista Brewing on September 10 from 11 AM to 1 PM for a chance to enjoy some cold brews and pick up a new houseplant. Participants are encouraged to bring at least one healthy plant, flower bouquet, or seed to swap at the event. There’s no cost to attend; just bring your favorite… or your second favorite plant to pass along to another plant-loving participant.
Wine Pairing Dinner: If you can’t make it to Vista Brewing for the plant swap (or you just don’t have a green thumb), reserve a spot for this special dinner event on September 13 at 6:30. The event kicks off with drinks and small bites before a dinner served by chef Kyle Barker that will pair perfectly with Vista Brewing’s new Wine Barrel Aged Wild Ale.
Tickets are $85 per guest, and this event is sure to sell out.
No matter the month or the season, there’s always something worthwhile happening in Dripping Springs. If you’d like to learn more about this wonderful Texas town and find your perfect home here, contact the Caliterra team.
