Mark your calendar because the Dripping Springs Brewer’s Festival, an annual celebration of the area’s local breweries, is making a return!
Last year was the festival’s inaugural year and it was such a success that it’s coming back again in 2023 and will be taking place on March 25 from 11 AM to 5 PM. If you consider yourself a craft beer aficionado, or simply enjoy a tasty pint on a spring day, here’s all the information you need to know about this can’t-miss event.
The event’s location is 311 Old Fitzhugh Road and will have at least 15 breweries on site. Attendees will have the opportunity to try several of the 45 craft beers representing everything from everyday pilsners and lagers to more exotic sours, stouts, and Indian pale ales. If you’re a fan of good beer, you’re sure to find a few you love! Guests will not only get to sip on some meticulously crafted beer from some of Texas’ best brewmasters, but they’ll receive a keepsake tasting mug commemorating the event.
Unlike a bar where guests open a tab or pay as they go, attendees of the festival must purchase a wristband for entry. Wristbands can be purchased at the gate, but it’s advised to purchase them in advance, in case the event sells out ahead of time. (You wouldn’t want to miss out on some delicious beer because you procrastinated!)
There are several wristband price options available, depending on how much beer you’re ready to try. General admission wristbands are $25 and allow entry to the event at 1 PM and include tasting for 8 beers. There’s also a VIP wristband option if you’d like to get there before the general admission crowds. This $40 wristband allows for an 11 AM entry time. Responsible drinking is of course highly encouraged and designated drivers can gain entrance to the festival for just $10.
Now that we’ve covered pricing, the next question on every beer fan’s mind is what’s on tap? This year’s festival includes a great lineup of area breweries including Acopon Brewing Company, Family Business Beer Company, Suds Monkey Brewing Company, Twisted X Brewing Company, Vista Brewing, Jester King Brewery, 12 Fox Beer Company, Beerburg Brewing, Bell Springs Brewing, Texas Cannon Brewing Company, Fitzhugh Brewing, and Ghost Note Brewing.
It should be noted that while those under 21 are permitted to attend with an adult, there are no children’s activities planned for the event. Guests are also welcome to bring along their four-legged best friend – provided your pup is well-behaved and on a leash.
While you can certainly enjoy a delicious beer without music, it’s our opinion that some good tunes just seem to make each sip of beer all the tastier. Bands Jankey and Monte Good will be playing live music and there will be a variety of food options available for purchase.
If last year’s event is any indication, we expect this year to be another awesome event worth raising a glass to. Cheers!
