Want to explore something different while enjoying the outdoors? Then, you’ll want to go to Sol’stice Gardens, a place that calls itself West of Weird, East of Normal. Sol’stice Gardens offers an eclectic space to wander that’s full of art and greenery.
About Sol’stice Gardens
Founder Christopher Sol Smartt was looking to make a change and leave the corporate world. He wanted to start a business with soul. His two passions were sculpture and gardening. He dreamed of a place where he could share his passions with outdoor lovers. The result? Its name is Sol’s Texas Institute of Creative Expression, which is also known as Sol’stice.
It’s a nursery, garden, art gallery, and gift shop all rolled in one. When you stop by, you feel like you’re going to someone’s home filled with unique things, each with its own story. You can walk along the paths to admire the yard art. Their curated collection changes regularly and represents many mediums. A giant teakwood longhorn is there to greet you.
It’s a great spot to find gifts made by local artisans. They’re a full-service nursery that specializes in Texas Hill Country native and adapted plants. You can find a seasonal selection of succulents, cacti, herbs, and vegetable starters. They also offer landscaping services and plant varieties that are locally grown, organic, and drought tolerant.
